Has this ever happened to you? You're on a road trip, you're catching a flight the next day and your umbrella stroller falls apart? This happened to me and my family about four years ago.
We were scheduled to hop on a flight in London the next day - we were ready to head back home to the US when my daughter's stroller falls apart. The footrest, a wheel and a handle on our umbrella stroller all went south. It was as if it knew that the warranty had expired. Our journey home included three different airports, so it was a prudent decision to get a new stroller for my three year old daughter. No big deal, a quick trip downtown and we bought ourselves a new lightweight stroller. Being in England, I wasn't surprised that we found an English stroller - a Maclaren Volo. What did surprise me, however, was the quality of the stroller - it was built really, really well. That's the day I became a Maclaren stroller fan.

Four years later I find myself reviewing a new stroller from Maclaren - The Techno XT. Oh my goodness what a great stroller! It has the same quality, craftsmanship and materials that I found in my Volo but the Techno's feature list keeps going and going.
Features
This stroller is a lightweight but it has all of the features of full-sized stroller. And at 14.5 lbs it folds up and is carried quite easily.
As with all Maclaren strollers, the Techno XT comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns. And with a removable & washable fully reclining seat, your little one can nap in style.
In addition to reclining flat, the seat can be moved into three additional seating positions. The ride on this stroller is very smooth - it has a padded seat and all-wheel suspension.
I'm 10" taller than my wife so I gravitate to strollers that have height adjustable handles. The Techno's height adjustable handles do the trick... both of us can stroll comfortably with this stroller.
This Maclaren stroller comes with a water resistant canopy that features a sun visor, air vents, a large viewing window and an attachable rain cover.

Who's using this stroller?
Travelers who find themselves using the Techno XT stroller long after their journey has ended - because of the sturdiness and maneuverability, and because it packs up so compactly... it's ideal for daily use.
What work's well?
You won't find a padded 5-point safety harness on other lightweight strollers. Your little ones will like this feature.
The easy fold feature is a dream... Flip a couple of switches and the stroller quickly folds up - making it easy to transport and store.
What doesn't work well?
The canopy and the storage basket could be bigger.
Why to buy this stroller...
If you are going to be traveling or you need a day to day stroller that is transported quite easily, and if you need a stroller that you can count on... This stroller won't fall apart when you need it the most.

If you're looking for a larger stroller or you're looking to save a bit of money.

The Quattro Tour stroller from Graco is a full-sized stroller that is compatible with infant car seats - it's a full sized, full feature, stroller yet it is easy to maneuver and is not too bad in the transportability department.
The Ipo stroller from Graco has a lot of great features and it costs less than the Techno XT stroller - it's a great value.
Recommendation
At 5, you might find the Techno XT to be too expensive. In defense of the price... this will indeed be the last stroller you buy - it's not going to leave you stranded at an airport - believe me. I highly recommend the Maclaren XT stroller. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
